Weddings at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc

The white palace in the pines at the tip of Cap d'Antibes has hosted a century of the world's most photographed people, which is exactly why weddings here are usually the least published ones. Eden-Roc weddings run on glamour and discretion in equal measure, and the photography must be fluent in both.

The house of the century

Two buildings hold the legend, the Grand Hôtel up the lawn and the Eden-Roc pavilion on the rocks, joined by an avenue through umbrella pines that is itself one of the Riviera's great frames. The sea here is not a backdrop, it is the floor of the whole composition, turquoise over white rock, with the diving board reaching over it like a stage prop the twentieth century left behind.

The light is classic Riviera, hard silver at noon, honeyed by six, and the white architecture doubles it. Dresses glow at Eden-Roc. So do dinner jackets, which is not something every venue can claim.

Discretion as a working method

Eden-Roc's clientele has always included people who cannot be casually photographed, and the house culture reflects it. We work the same way. Guest lists stay private, frames are checked for who is in the background, non disclosure agreements are familiar paperwork, and if the wedding is never to appear anywhere, it never does. The photography loses nothing. The archive simply belongs to fewer people, which at this address is rather the point.

More on photographing this coast lives in our French Riviera field notes. Coverage and pricing are with the editions, and the commission sheet is one page away.

Working at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc

i.

The allée first

The pine avenue between the two buildings is the venue's signature walk. We photograph it empty at scout, then with the two of you, then with the whole procession.

ii.

Silver to honey

Riviera light turns from hard silver to honey after six. The formal portraits wait for the turn, the pavilion terraces catch it best.

iii.

Private by default

At this address we treat every frame as private until told otherwise. Publication, if any, is a decision you make later, never one we assume.

Asked about this house

Three honest answers

Can our wedding at Eden-Roc stay completely private?

Yes. We regularly work under non disclosure, keep weddings out of our portfolio and press entirely, and manage backgrounds for recognisable guests. Discretion at this level is a working method, not an add-on.

Where are the best portraits taken at the hotel?

The pine allée, the diving board at golden hour and the pavilion terraces over the water. Between them they give the album glamour, history and sea, and they are all within a few minutes' walk.

How much coverage does an Eden-Roc wedding need?

These are usually multi chapter days, arrivals, ceremony, dinner, and a party that ends late. Most couples here commission our full team for the day, and many for the weekend. We scale the presence to the guest list's comfort, never the other way.
