What does a French Riviera wedding photographer cost?

The Riviera runs twenty to forty percent above the rest of France. In 2026, established wedding photographers between Monaco and Saint-Tropez quote about 3 000 to 5 500 euros, the luxury tier runs 7 000 to 12 000 and beyond, and combined photography with film at the top of the market reaches 20 000 euros and more. Here is why, and how to read the quotes.

The Riviera premium, explained

Everything on this coast prices above the national average, and photography follows for concrete reasons rather than vanity ones.

What the bands look like here

Monaco, Cannes and Saint-Tropez ask different questions

Monaco weddings are about rooms and reserve, salon ceremonies, terrace dinners, guest lists that expect privacy. Cannes and the Cap d'Antibes are estate territory, gardens running to the sea and parties that need a team. Saint-Tropez is the marathon, beach clubs, spray from the magnums, a dance floor at golden hour that deserves an editorial crew of its own.

Our field notes on the territory live on the French Riviera page, with dedicated guides to Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc.

Comparing quotes like a planner would

Luxury planners on this coast compare three things before price, and couples should copy them. First, has the studio worked the venue, because the great houses reward familiarity. Second, does the quote hold everything, travel, stays, the second shooter, the album, in one number confirmed before signing. Third, will the people in the portfolio be the people at the wedding, in writing.

Only then does the figure itself mean anything. A 4 000 euro quote that grows invoices afterwards is not cheaper than an 8 000 euro quote that never moves.

Quick answers

Asked often

Are wedding photographers more expensive in Monaco?

The work in Monaco prices like the Riviera's top band, mostly because of what surrounds the photography, structured venues, formal timelines and guest lists that expect discretion as standard. The craft is the same. The context is more demanding.

What months are cheapest for a Riviera wedding photographer?

April, May and October carry the lightest calendars, and May in particular is the coast at its greenest with the sea already warming. June and September are peak and price like it. Book those twelve to eighteen months ahead.

Should we hire a French photographer or bring one from abroad?

Hire for coast experience, not passport. A studio that knows Cap Ferrat's evening light matters more than where it sleeps in winter. If you bring a studio in, expect travel folded into one transparent number, never a mileage bill afterwards.

Can our Riviera wedding stay off the internet?

With the right studio, completely. Non disclosure agreements, portfolio exclusion and guest privacy protocols are established practice at this end of the market. Ask for it in the contract, and expect a professional yes.

The Riviera, priced honestly. Ask us the rest.
