Sparks at Midnight
It started elegant. It ended luminous.
It started elegant. It ended luminous. A summer estate, a long table under the trees, and a couple who had clearly decided that midnight was a beginning, not an end.
Daylight gave us the formal chapters, the tiara, the toasts, the grandmother's dance. Then the sun left and the wedding changed key. Jackets came off, the band got louder, and the night turned into the part of the album everyone opens first.
The sparkler exit was her idea. A corridor of small fires, a run, a kiss at the end of it. The last frame of the night looks like a film still because, for one second, everything was.
