What does a Croatia wedding photographer cost?

In 2026, established wedding photographers in Croatia quote roughly 1 800 to 5 000 euros for a full day, the luxury tier runs from about 6 000 to 15 000 euros, and photography with film together reaches around 18 000 at the top of the market. Croatia prices below Italy and above Montenegro, and since the euro replaced the kuna in 2023 the comparison is finally like for like. This guide explains what moves the number.

Our own commissions begin at 6 500 euros for The Reportage and 12 000 for The Edition, with flights, stays and the scouting day inside that figure rather than added to it.

What moves the price here

Where photography should sit in the budget

The European and American convention is ten to fifteen percent of the total for photography and film together, twelve percent being a common midpoint. On a 35 000 euro Croatian wedding that suggests roughly 3 500 to 5 000 euros. On a 90 000 euro Dubrovnik wedding with a film, closer to 11 000.

Croatia's advantage is that this percentage buys more here than it does in Italy. The same budget that reaches the established band on the Amalfi Coast reaches comfortably into the luxury band in Dalmatia.

When to book

Twelve months out for June or September, which are the two months everyone wants. May and early October carry lighter calendars and better prices, and the October light along that limestone is arguably the best of the year.

Quick answers

Asked often

Is Croatia cheaper than Italy for wedding photography?

Yes, meaningfully. The established band in Croatia runs roughly 1 800 to 5 000 euros against 2 500 to 7 500 on the Italian coast, and the luxury band sits proportionally lower too. The same budget reaches a higher tier of studio in Dalmatia than it does on the Amalfi Coast.

Why is Dubrovnik more expensive than Split?

Demand and constraint together. Dubrovnik has the walled city, the highest international profile and the tightest usable portrait window because of the cruise calendar. Split is larger, less constrained and less in demand for weddings, and prices follow.

Do photographers charge extra for island weddings?

Usually, and reasonably. Hvar, Brac and Vis are reached by catamaran on fixed timetables, and moving a team and its equipment reliably costs both money and contingency. Ask for it inside the headline number rather than as an invoice afterwards.

How far ahead should we book in Croatia?

Twelve months for June or September. The shoulder months of May and early October are far easier and often better, both for price and for light.
